Katy’s career in television began straight out of school after a work experience job at MTV landed her a position at fledgling production company, Horsepower. Everything from office admin to location coordinating gave her a priceless education in the behind the scenes world of television. If that wasn’t enough, a meeting with former radio DJ and agent Peter Powell led to an audition for a film that he was backing, and Katy found herself as one of the lead roles in Darren Fisher’s 2001 feature film ‘The Inbetweeners’ about freshmen at University.

Katy’s talents also reached to the music world and she had an exciting year completing a Diploma course in vocals at the Academy of Contemporary music. This gave her a very well rounded education in music, covering business studies, music theory and of course performance.

She spent the next few years singing in bands and hitting the audition circuit. This eventually led to Katy taking on the might of Simon Cowell in the audition room of Pop Idol (series 2). Making it through round after round and boot camp she found herself in the final 50 and sang in one of ITV1’s Saturday night heats. Although she didn’t make it to the main stage she had spent plenty of time getting reacquainted with TV production and was particularly interested in what the show’s presenter, Kate Thornton was up to. Could TV presenting be the career where all Katy’s skills would come together?

With real determination that this might just be her future, Katy pounded the streets of London with her self made show reel, and got her first presenting job from her very first audition at Bid TV. 3 hours of live unscripted presenting 5 days a week. It was utterly exhausting….and the best training that anyone could possibly have. It taught her how to think on her feet and deal with anything that might happen in a live environment, not to mention giving her stamina of steel! She stayed there for two years and when she left she was ready to take on anything.

Katy was snapped up by ITV2’s dating show ‘Playdate’ which lead onto ITV1’s quiz shows ‘Glitterball’ and ‘Make Your Play’. All being live programs, Katy was in her element. She was also getting her first interviews for the online channel Studiotalk.tv, interviewing a mixture of celebrities and experts on anything from shopping, gardening and travel to motorbikes.

A former colleague, who was now a continuity producer at ITV, then spotted Katy’s potential to add a new line of work to her CV, Voice Over’s. She auditioned to be a continuity announcer for ITV2 and got the job. She was now scripting and recording links for one of the highest rated digital channels in the UK. Her bosses soon saw even more potential and moved her to ITV1 as a ‘live’ announcer. She spent two years speaking live to the nation announcing the likes of X Factor, The Queens Christmas Speech and even the first ever live political debate from the party leaders. She was snapped up by Voice Over agent Wise Buddah and has worked non-stop ever since. She has been the voice of Sun Talk radio, BBC America, Vauxhall, Nintendo and many album releases and corporate videos.

Katy is now one of the main presenters at the UK's number one shopping channel QVC and loves it, the variety, the people and opportunity to work with some of the biggest names in beauty and fashion keeps it incredibly exciting.

Along with her passion for television, film and music, travel is a huge part of Katy’s life whether it’s the beaches of Barbados or the streets of post war Sierra Leone. One of her favorite destinations is Cape Town South Africa where she has cage dived with Great Whites and jumped out of an airplane. She is a qualified SCUBA diver and generally loves the great outdoors especially the sea. Katy certainly isn’t afraid of a challenge! She is married with a daughter and splits her time between London and the South Coast.
